Chamber Committees Keep You Informed, In Touch & Involved
Chamber Committees keep you informed, in touch & involved. Chamber committees provide a conduit of information that is of interest to Salinas Valley businesses. Further, Chamber Members have the opportunity to work with others in a more intimate, ongoing way—relationships with other committee members may lead to new clients.
The Chamber Highlights Community Service and Family Service Programs
Wake Up Salinas! breakfast meetings are often designed to promote local programs; participants are educated while having breakfast and networking. These breakfasts are held four times per year. Contact 424-7611 or info@salinaschamber.com.
The First Day Festival is an informational faire that highlights non-profit, family service programs. Elements of fun and speeches by elected officials are also a part of this Festival held annually at Northridge Mall. It is an excellent way to kick-off the beginning of the school year while encouraging parents to be involved in their children’s education. Contact the Chamber at

Acknowledging People Who Serve the Community is a Chamber Standard
The Salinas Valley Chamber of Commerce holds its Annual Installation & Awards Luncheon each February. At this event, attended by our Board of Directors and local business leaders, several people are honored: Citizen of the Year, Small and Large Business of the Year, Woman of the Year (the Athena Award), as well as our long term Chamber Members.
Staffing for Emergency Response
Staff compiles emergency contacts in an effort to keep 911 lines open during area wide emergencies.
All-America City Collaborative Committee
The Chamber’s Board of Directors has spearheaded an effort to submit an application for Salinas into the All-America City competition, a program of the National Civic League honoring communities in which community members, government, businesses and non-profit organizations work together to address critical local issues. Winning the award could mean Salinas will find it easier to attract and retain businesses that generate jobs and a stronger tax base and could reinvigorate Salinas with a new sense of pride. The processs of completing the application alone will encourage community collaboration and foster new partnerships. Contact the Chamber at

“The Chamber provided me with some great leadership training through Leadership Salinas. Recently I picked up a new client because the chamber referred them to my company. I consider that a good investment!” Jeff Meeks, President Credit Consulting Services, Inc.
