Leadership Monterey Peninsula announces dissolution, but possibilities remain
A few days ago, the Board Chair for Leadership Monterey Peninsula sent a note to their alumni and supporter database announcing that the LMP program would be closing down. The news was disheartening to many, as LMP had worked to develop leaders in the community for more than 30 years. But with change comes opportunity.
While we do not yet have any concrete news to report, our Chamber Foundation (which oversees our own Leadership Salinas Valley program) continues to collaborate with the LMP Board to re-evaluate our own program and discuss opportunities. One such possibility is to build “Leadership Monterey County,” a program that is more regional in nature.
We are asking “In a fast-changing world, what do local employers, employees and residents want and need in a leadership development program?” In 2017, we expect to explore and workshop different concepts for a revitalized program. If you have participated in our program in the past, we will keep you in the loop. When we have updates, we’ll also post them on our website here. (Hey, you found it!)
