Salinas is the capital of the Salinas Valley, which has long been known as "The Salad Bowl of the World" for its fresh produce, and is also renowned for its flowers and vineyards. More recently, the region is emerging as a world hub of agricultural technology. Although agriculture is the foundation of the local economy, more than 100 manufacturing firms call Salinas home.

Alebrijes y Nahuales
July 31 - September 4
Inspired by the traditions of Mexical magical realism, Alebrijes y Nahuales: Fantastic Animals from Mexico brings together 8 monumental sculptures, with each of these statues reaching nearly 20 feet tall. These large-scale pieces are based on original works, designed and crafted by celebrated artists and artesanos from Oaxaca and central Mexico. These whimsical, larger-than-life sculptures are equipped with strategically placed solar lighting, allowing their intricate craftmanship to be appreciated both day and night.
Ribbon Cutting

Join us on August 25th from 5 PM to 6"30 PM as we celebrate a special Grand Opening Ribbon Cutting Ceremony for Mathnasium of Salinas! Mathnasium delivers a proven, math-only curriculum, a customized learning plan for each student, and face-to-face instruction in an encouraging environment.
As students head back to school, we’re proud to support our community by creating a space dedicated to learning, growth, and confidence in math. This event marks not only the opening of our center but also our commitment to helping Salinas students start the 2026-2027 school year strong. Families, students, and community members are all invited to come together for an afternoon of celebration, connection, and fun!
Enjoy light refreshments and engaging activities, meet our team, explore our learning environment, and learn how we help students build skills that last a lifetime. The event is free to attend, and all attendees will be entered into a raffle to receive prizes (bring a friend to receive extra tickets!).
